CEC - Cork English College is one of Ireland's leading English Language Schools with over 40 years’ experience in the E.F.L. industry. In keeping pace with our growth, CEC are hiring enthusiastic English Language Teachers for an immediate start in our city-centre adult school. We also welcome applicants for our forthcoming summer junior school programme.


At CEC we offer both experienced and newly qualified teachers the opportunity to gain experience and develop your teaching skills in a busy, dynamic, and professional language school. Our teachers follow a well-established curriculum in delivering lessons and all course materials are provided. Teachers are supported at all times by an experienced academic management team and benefit from regular in-service training workshops.

CEC aims to ensure students achieve their learning outcomes through fun and engaging lessons where their needs are fully understood and met. We are proud of the diverse range of programmes we offer our students.

CEC is recognised by ACELS, a service of QQI, for English Language Teaching (ELT) and we are full members of MEI, Quality English and EAQUALS. CEC is also an authorised IELTS, OET, Trinity and Cambridge ESOL examination centre. CEC was named as the Best English Language School at the Irish Education Awards in 2019, 2020 and 2021.


Main duties:

Planning and delivering high quality lessons

Assessing students learning and providing them with appropriate feedback

Liaising with the Academic Management team to keep them informed about student progress

Maintaining accurate students records with regard to attendance and assessment

Attending and participating in meetings and in-service workshops


Who you are:

A motivated language professional who is flexible and enjoys working in a dynamic environment and who is enthusiastic about helping students reach their language learning goals.


Essential Requirements:

  • A primary degree (NFQ Level 7)

  • A recognised TEFL qualification such as Cambridge CELTA, Trinity TESOL, ACELS CELT or equivalent (online qualifications are not recognised)

  • The right to live and work in the EU.
